Proctoring (Invigilation) Services

Proctoring or Invigilating of Non-Insignia College Modules or Admissions Exams

For the past 11 years, Insignia College has been supporting distance learning by providing proctoring services for students away from their campuses or individuals or organizations needing to take exams through testing companies or businesses. Exams can be either paper-pencil or web-based.

Insignia College Testing Services include scheduling, receiving, timing and processing exams, both paper and online. A designated Proctor will ensure that only permissible items enter the exam area and will monitor the students. Please note that staff will provide uninterrupted observation.

Insignia College is able to host Admissions and Module exams in Victoria, BC for students taking classes at other institutions. This service is coordinated by the Office of the Registrar.

Fees for Proctoring Services:

Individual Exam Candidates are required to pay the proctoring fee of $105 per exam for a maximum time frame of 4 hours. If more time is required additional fees will apply. Examination fees are non-refundable.

Organizations should call the campus if requiring services for groups of students: a minimum group charge will apply.

Required postage must be prepaid and self-addressed to ship exams back to the respective institution via courier or mail.

Should you need the invigilator to print documents or examinations, there will be an additional fee of $50 for documents up to a max of 20 pages.

Examinees are responsible for notifying their institution to send all exam information to Insignia College.

General Testing Policies for Proctored Testing

On the day of your test, you will need to bring:

Government issued picture ID that has a printed name and a recognizable photograph. Acceptable forms of photo identification include:

  • Current Driver’s License
  • BC Services Card
  • Current College ID
  • Current Passport

** Individuals sitting for exams in organized bookings, must adhere to the policies of the organization they belong too in addition to Insignia College regulations.

You are not permitted to use any unauthorized Electronic devices (this includes cell phones, phablets, tablets, cell phone watches, laptops and any other electronic devices). These items must be powered down prior to entering the testing room and remain off during the exam.

Only people actively taking a test are permitted in the Testing Room. Other people (age 16 and older) accompanying the test taker may wait quietly outside the Testing Room. Children may not be left unattended.

Examinees that violate ICHB’s academic integrity policies or Testing policies, will be prohibited from using this proctoring service.

The College is closed on weekends and statutory holidays. Holidays which fall on a weekend are observed on the following Monday.
